NESAS Cybersecurity Certification Scheme –
German Implementation (NESAS-CCS-GI)

The NESAS scheme is a collaboration and jointly led by 3GPP and the GSMA, and is open to all vendors of network equipment products that support 3GPP defined functions. NESAS has been developed to strengthen the level of security in 5G and LTE networks following established best practices and schemes that provide security assurance.

BSI (“Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik”) implemented a national certification scheme which is based on GSMA NESAS with some adaptations. A successful evaluation results in a certificate issued by BSI.

Note that NESAS-CCS-GI is further applicable to components of critical telecommunication infrastructures in Germany according to TR-03163.

atsec is an approved lab under NESAS-CCS-GI and able to perform SCAS testing for all security-relevant 5G components.
