atsec Supports Supply Chain Accreditation Standard2013-04-09
Austin, TX – The release of the first version of the Open Trusted Technology Provider Standard (O-TTPS) by The Open Group Trusted Technology Forum is supported by atsec.
The new standard available free of charge from The Open Group has been developed using The Open Group’s established consensus process, which brought together many leading stakeholders that are associated with producing and using commercial off the shelf (COTS) information and communication technology. These stakeholders have been drawn from industry and government organizations and represent the global nature of the COTS supply chain.
atsec has been privileged to play a role in the development of the O-TTPS by contributing expertise in the evaluation and testing of COTS products and the processes associated with their development, production and distribution.
O-TTPS is the foundation for an accreditation program that is currently in the process of development and piloting by The Open Group.
The accreditation program will allow providers of COTS ICT products around the world to demonstrate that they follow the industry-norm best practices, a vital factor in the mitigation of risks associated with threats that concern most users of COTS ICT products, namely those of counterfeited products and maliciously tainted products.
atsec looks forward to supporting the practical application of the standard which will contribute greatly to the COTS ICT cyber security landscape
